Neck Pain

Neck Pain

Neck pain is often caused by an injury to the muscles, ligaments in the neck and even the cervical vertebrae. The most common causes include:

  • Whiplash sprains
  • Strains of the neck
  • Text neck
  • Poor posture
  • Herniated discs
  • Degenerative joint disease
  • Arthritis

Certain shoulder and upper back injuries may also manifest as neck pain. The most common symptoms of a neck injury include pain and stiffness, but are not limited to headaches, exhaustion and pain in the shoulders and upper back, especially if you have a pinched nerve in your neck.

Our chiropractor typically utilizes chiropractic adjustments, massage therapy, corrective exercises and lifestyle advice to treat neck injuries. If you have a herniated disc in your neck, we may also recommend non-surgical spinal decompression, which can be performed on a special chiropractic table that has drop sections or on a computer-controlled spinal decompression table that applies a gentle force to help increase the space between your vertebrae.
