Bursitis is the inflammation of the very small sacs in the joints and throughout the body that help provide cushioning and reduce friction between the muscles, tendons, bones and even the skin. Through repetitive motion and overuse, the bursae receive so much friction that the small fluid-filled sac becomes inflamed and painful, resulting in a loss of range of motion.
If you suspect you have bursitis, it’s important to get treatment from our chiropractor as soon as possible, because chronic bursitis can lead to excessive scar tissue buildup and further loss of range of motion. Chiropractic treatments for bursitis focus on reducing the inflammation of the bursae and can include manual and chiropractic adjustments, corrective stretches and exercises to loosen the tendons and muscles.
